Meet the Designer

Lorraine 'Lane' White (BArts/BEdu), designer and founder of Whitelane Textiles. A passionate textile artist, with a love of all things Victorian and the glamour of Pinup, brings her knowledge of textiles and embellishment to your vision of corseted beauty. Whether your vision be a graceful lingerie or a spectacular burlesque costume, Lorraine can create your ideal look. Developing her skills independently since 2007, through private study, museum collection visits and more recently attending the Royal Welsh Academy of Music and Drama summer course with Jill Salen in 2015, Lorraine has developed considerable skills and knowledge in the field of historic costume and corsetry.

Inspired by history, made beautiful by you

With a background in education, Lorraine firmly believes in the transformative power of knowledge, research and preservation of history. Drawing upon the vast fashion archives of Museum collections, both as a digital and physical source of information, Lorraine interprets historical sources to create the Whitelane design range. Primarily working from the Victorian era, influences from Edwardian through to the 1950s can be seen in our ever increasing design range.
